There is never a bad time to start thinking about making plans for your future, or perhaps just quitting bad habits.
If finance is on your agenda, here are some tips to get you focussed:
Spend less than you earn! Sounds so simple but not many of us do it. This really is the only way to get ahead.
Do a budget – it’s hard, boring and sometimes downright scary but you need to know where all your money goes. If you already have a budget – review it, you will be surprised by how much costs can change in a single year.
Review your loans – make sure you are on the best rate possible (call us if you would like our assistance)
Salary sacrifice to super – if you have surplus funds after doing your budget, then putting a little extra into super each month may be of great benefit to you down the track.
Invest in growth assets – get your savings to work for you! (make an appointment to find out how to tailor this strategy to your personal situation)
Set goals – this can include financial goals as well as personal goals – you will not achieve anything without a plan.
Action those goals (see point six) – a plan with no action is just a wish or a hope.
Spend less than you earn – yes I know you heard me the first time but I am serious – this really is the most important step!
